Diabetes Care Centurion supports a holistic multidisciplinary team approach to offer our patients the best possible care in the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
Heading our team is Dr Christel Olivier, diabetologist, who has been practising in the field of diabetes since 2005 and took ownership of Diabetes Care Centurion in 2009.
Initially partnering with well-loved Dr Dan Jackson. Since Dr Jackson’s retirement in 2020 Dr Olivier has been the sole director of Christel Olivier Inc, trading as Diabetes Care Centurion.

Dr Olivier has a formidable academic career and not only achieved 7 distinctions during her senior certificate exam but was also one of the top 10 matriculants in Gauteng in 1996.
She completed her MBChB studies at the University of Pretoria in 2002 and further completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes through Glamorgan University, United Kingdom, with distinction, and achieving the second highest diploma average in the international group for the academic year.
She then completed her Masters (MSc) degree in diabetes through the University of South Wales in 2014, again with distinction.
Dr Olivier believes that excellent patient care is only achievable through continuous training and regularly attends international congresses and forums and has also been invited as a speaker to several local and international diabetes events. She has also been invited to speak on diabetes on television and on national radio broadcasts creating awareness of the disease and promoting early detection and timeous treatment for diabetes to prevent life-threatening complications.
Dr Olivier’s special interest is sensor augmented pump therapy and Diabetes Care Centurion is currently the largest insulin pump and CGM (continuous glucose monitoring / sensor) centre in Pretoria.
